Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 27, 2026
This policy explains what data the Shipping Option Overrides app (“the app”, “we”) accesses and stores when you install it on your Shopify store, and how we handle it.
What we access
When you install the app, Shopify grants it access to:
- Your store’s delivery customization settings (scopes: read and write delivery customizations), so the app can create and update the shipping-option rename rules you configure.
- Basic store identity (your
myshopify.comdomain) provided by Shopify during authentication.
We do not request or access your customers’ personal information, order contents, or payment data.
What we store
- An authentication session for your store (your store domain and the access token Shopify issues), so the app can act on your behalf.
- The rename rules you configure. These are saved as a setting on your store’s delivery customization (a Shopify metafield) and read back to display them.
We do not store customer names, addresses, emails, or any customer personal data.
How the rules are applied
Your rules run at checkout via a Shopify Function inside Shopify’s own infrastructure. The app does not see your shoppers’ carts or personal data.
Data sharing
We do not sell or share your data. We rely on:
- Shopify, the platform the app runs on.
- Our hosting and database providers (Netlify and Neon), which process the session data above on our behalf.
Retention and deletion
- When you uninstall the app, Shopify notifies us and we delete your store’s session data.
- We honor Shopify’s mandatory privacy webhooks (
customers/data_request,customers/redact,shop/redact). Because the app stores no customer personal data, the customer requests are no-ops; shop redaction removes any remaining store data we hold.
Your requests
To request deletion of any data we hold, or with any privacy question, contact us at support@avidnewmedia.com.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “last updated” date above reflects the latest version.
